I plan on writing a steady flow of tracks for vocalists as I like working with them. It stems from my Grime days with Macabre Unit and even into my Dubstep days. This track came about from me putting a post out on my Facebook page back in August 2022, and I simply just said I am wanting to write a dark techy D&B track for a vocalist to jump on, and the people did the rest.

A few artists were tagged, which I have banked for future workings, but there was one in particular called, Flipz, who I was already very familiar with from my Dubstep days, and I naturally gravitated towards him. I had sketched out this idea and sent it to him and within a few weeks he had all the vocals back to me which is perfect as that is exactly how I like to work, quick and easy, not too much back and forth.

The way I tend to work with vocalists is I will sketch out an idea, send it to them, get the vocals back, then continue writing the track around them. I call it the creative sandwich. I don't like the thought of just chucking a vocal over the top of a track, although I am sure that works well for other artists. For me, it’s about working the vocalist into the track so that they are woven into it.

I almost over cooked this tune but I had to put the brakes on. I had this second wave of ideas that came to me after a bass writing sound design session but quickly realised that this track was done and dusted.I am learning to let go of my creations a lot easier.
