This track came together very easily for me. Once again I had written a track, in fact two tracks for the EP, which I finished and ended up not liking, so I had to quickly think on my feet and write something to get in the system and to keep up the momentum. Hence why this release is a single.

There appears to be a pattern forming here with my workflow where I have to write a track, or two, throw the kitchen sink at it (them), finish it and then scrap it, for me to then write something much better - IMO - and more suited to what I am pushing for EOOM, very quickly and against the clock. Do I work better under pressure?… Quite possibly, I do tend to get a buzz from having the chips stacked against me in various aspects of my life (whether I like it or not), and after all, everything always works out in the end. That’s my mentality anyway,

I could have stalled the scheduling of this release as I still had some time on my side but tbh, I thought fuck it, this track is strong enough to stand alone and here we are. I like to try things and I hate rigidness in any shape or form and repetition is boring, and sometimes classed as insane, especially when you expect different results.

The name for this track came from my mate talking about this program he has been watching called ‘Sandman’. I know nothing about the program, nor have any interest in it, but I know of the mythical fairy tale and It seemed like a cool name for a tune. I also love ‘Enter Sandman’ by Metallica so it resonates with me a lot.

I tried some different techniques with this track too. I used a stereo trick on the drums which I rarely do which worked quite well and I also used some plugins that I wouldn’t normally use. Variety is the spice of life and as I said earlier in this copy, I hate rigidness.

Enjoy the track and remember, if the Sandman throws sand in your eyes, you better go to sleep or your eyes might fall out ;)
