Seneca was a Roman philosopher. My love for Stoicism and philosophy runs deep and it only felt right to show acknowledgement on my first release. Tbf, you will be seeing a lot of stoic and philosophical nods and references throughout the label's lifetime because it is such a big part of my life.

Seneca was in fact built to be the AA track but as I started to wrap it up my gut feeling was telling me that it should be the A track. It’s hard to explain why I made that decision but my gut is my first brain and my intuition levels are very high so I just let them guide me and tbh, I have learnt over the years to not over analyse the why’s and to just roll with it. If I trust my gut I can never be wrong, even if I am wrong in the eyes and opinions of others.

The reason I set up Eleven One One was so that I could deliver music that I truly feel makes me tick as a creative. I do enjoy and respect all styles of Drum & Bass but I am very vocal about my love for the late 90s/early 00s Drum & Bass. Artists such as Konflict (Kemal & Rob Data), Optical & Ed Rush, C4C, Tech Itch, Dom & Roland and more alike have, and still continue to influence me to this day. Having had the honour and privilege to live through that era, and sound, it stole my heart and imprinted on me as a young aspiring artist and I feel it's my obligation to contribute towards keeping that sound moving whilst showing my respect to those who already know about it, and introducing it to new listeners. This is what I plan on doing with Eleven One One.

Fabrication has had an interesting journey. The idea was started on one of my live Friday studio sessions which I do bi-weekly via Zoom - it’s free to attend and anyone is invited to come and jam with me whilst I work on my music. The drums were very different to what you hear now and I didn’t change them right up until I pretty much “finished” the track and then one morning I woke up and thought “These drums are crap, they have to go”, so I got rid of them and replaced them with the drums I have now. I also think I changed the bass pattern but I genuinely can't remember.

Just to touch on Seneca again before I sign off - That track came together a bit easier for me off the back of writing Fabrication and I feel that’s probably because I used Fabrication as a guiding system for how I wanted this second track (now the A track) to sound. It felt like I had been there before and all I was trying to do was compliment the first track but then it just grew into its own and although the elements are similar, it does have a very different vibe to Fabrication and it really came into its own so I just kept feeding it. These types of songs write themselves - effortless to some degree.

Anyway - I hope you enjoy the music and although this type of material isn’t exactly what the vast majority of DJs are playing atm, I truly hope that you will all just appreciate the music for what it is and even if it doesn’t fit in your DJ set, I hope it fits into a playlist somewhere.
